Per usual, I rummaged through my mother’s closet while home for the Christmas holiday. I discovered this pretty print top in a drawer in my brother’s room. I found the top while shuffling through the drawer looking for socks to wear to bed.
As soon as I saw the print, not knowing what item of clothing it was, I snatched and pulled it swifter than a bride-to-be at a David’s Bridal after Thanksgiving sale. The print was pretty mesmerizing, and immediately I thought to myself ” Imma rock the ish outta this!” Though it was slightly big, it’s nothing a belt cannot fix.
My mother’s closet never ceases to amaze me. It’s like re-reading a book, even when I find items like this or earrings like this in first run-through, I always find something new and interesting the next time around.
As a child, there were a few times when I spent hours upon hours cleaning out and reorganizing her closet. It never amounted to the magnitude of the people we see on TV shows like Hoarders, but to us (my brothers and I), it definitely seemed like it, especially since I was young. Things always seem grander than they are when we’re younger. Don’t you agree?
